But with a few tweaks to your business process, you can make Returns 

=> hassle-free for your customer, 

=> profitable for you, 

=> and awesome for the Earth.

Accept returns with a smile.

= Loyal customers 

= Higher profits


Tweak #2

Make returns pay for itself

Find out the total cost of returned products in a typical month.

Include this as an expense in your product sale price calculator  

 

From your Shopify admin, go to 

Analytics > Reports > Categories > Orders 

> Product orders & returns


Find your Monthly Returns Expense (MRE).


=> For low-value non-resellable products like apparel, 

use Cost of Product

=> For high-value resellable products like jewelry, 

use 25% of the Cost of the Product


Add it all up to get your MRE


=> If your MRE is more than 20% of monthly sales, you have a product selection problem.


=> If your MRE is less than 20% of monthly sales, include the MRE as an expense in your Product Price Calculator

Partner with a local or national charity, or a local seller on liquidation.com or poshmark.com 

 

Instead of trying to salvage and resell a low-priced product, have customers return 

directly to these outlets, and send you a picture of the donation slip/receipt for a hassle-free refund
