From eCommerce Marketplace to B2B SaaS for eCommerce : Founder’s Journey


My mission is to help eCommerce brands & influencers accomplish great things with small (1-20 people) teams. 


We use deep tech ( including AI/ML) to make complex & difficult eCommerce functions run on autopilot. 


My flagship product flareAI is generating millions in store sales from Google Search, on autopilot.


Previously, I built an eCommerce marketplace supporting 400+ suppliers, 1Million+ products, and was awarded the Inc 5000 Fastest growing companies in the US, 

three years in a row.


This is my journey, discovering a problem affecting millions of eCommerce stores. 


Then, finding a solution :-)


A few years ago...

 

I moved from a hectic silicon valley lifestyle (Oracle consultant) to a then sleepy little town...:-) 


Austin, TX


I chose to start something new. 


My son was a ranked junior tennis player. 


So I decided to start an eCommerce store offering specialized guidance & equipment for Junior Tennis to help other tennis parents 


The niche (junior tennis) took off.

 

In a few months, I iterated to evolve into an eCommerce B2B marketplace with specialized verticals: Sports, Chemicals, Tools, and so on


But then a strange thing happened....


My sales was growing  :-) 


but profits were shrinking :-(


Did a deep-dive analytics.


Discovered: 8 years ago  ALL my 100+ products were found on Google Search,  generating free sales. Most profitable way to do eCommerce


Fast forward 8 years I had 100,000 products but only 2% was Found on Google.


So I was selling 98% of my products, mainly thru expensive paid ads.


Why did 100% Found on Google (FOG) degrade to only 2% in 8 years? 


I am not alone.

 

Millions of eCommerce stores have the same Found (indexing) on Google problem. 


Spoke with Google insiders & other large eCommerce. 


Two years later found a solution. 


Deployed it in my own eCommerce marketplace and found my Google score to grow from 2% to 40% in just a few months.


Meaning I started to get free sales from Google Search for forty thousand more products generating thousands of dollars in additional revenue with virtually zero marketing cost


When the solution helped me, I decided I must build a B2B SaaS product to help other eCommerce brands.
