Let's face it. Occasionally in any growing business, something f**ks up

77% have a 1-star review by the time they reach 100 reviews

So calm down, it is not catastrophic

Remind Yourself

My customer is human

My team is human

I am human

It doesn't matter whether you believe the customer is right or not

First, apologize. Just makes it easy all around to diffuse a heated situation

Something in the process failed. Get to the bottom of it

Could be the product, the service, or the communication

Communicate directly with the customer.

Do right by the customer, as best as you can.

Post your response to the 1-star review in public. 

Be courteous, and transparent. Avoid blaming someone.

Instead, elaborate on the process enhancements since 

Implement a business-wide process enhancement. 

Never repeat the same "mistake"

There are always new mistakes to be made :-)
